Educational Visit to Biodiversity Parks

visit to Yamuna, Aravalli, and Neela Hauz Biodiversity Parks
The Department of Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science at BPIT organized a visit to Yamuna, Aravalli, and Neela Hauz Biodiversity Parks for second-year students of CSE, IT, ECE, and EEE. The trip aimed to raise awareness about biodiversity and conservation. Students explored diverse ecosystems, native flora and fauna, and ongoing restoration efforts. Experts highlighted the role of urban biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance. This experiential learning opportunity helped students understand sustainability and environmental responsibility, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation. The visit was both informative and engaging, encouraging future engineers to adopt eco-friendly practices.

A one-day national seminar on, “Innovations in the Field of Semiconductor & Quantum Physics (NSQP – 2024)”, was held at Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT) on 6th March 2024, under the aegis of Viksit Bharat, organized by Applied Science Department. Prof. P. K. Bhatnagar (Retd.), from the Department of Electronics Science at the University of Delhi, graced the event as the Chief Guest and delivered a keynote speech. Additional keynote speakers for NSQP-2024 were Prof. Rishu Chaujar, Dept. of Applied Physics, Delhi Technological University, Delhi, and Dr. Kulvinder Singh Dept of Physics, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Delhi University.
There were approximately 130 participants from various colleges. Students and faculty members insightly benefited from the expert talks related to Quantum and semiconductor physics.
A program under the aegis of G20: Life Style & Environment was organised today in the afternoon in New Building by the Applied Chemistry and Environment Studies department of BPIT in association with NSS. There were more than 50 students of first year who participated ,apart from being in the organising team, in the following activities related to EVS:

POSTER COMPETITION

The cash prizes were given to the winners and certificates of participation and being a winner were distributed. The function was attended by faculty and dignitaries and addressed by respected Chairman Sir, Shri Vinod Vats ji. His address touched the issues of environment conservation and Indian aspects of G20 deliberations during the year of India’s presidency of the summit of the group of 20 for the year 2023. He emphasized the contribution of Indian heritage of culture and knowledge in the world heritage where our country is very strong, though materially we have to work harder to compete with the other G20 nationsn

This was the first time the BPIT Chairman Sir addressed the young students in a class room scenario on a very live subject, concerning all living beings ( Prakriti). Sh Vats ji’s clarity on the practical aspects of the impending Climate Change was highly appreciated and responded to by the students and faculty in huge applause. We wish more such occasions for one-to-one academic interaction of the Chairman with students are forthcoming in future.
